Dehradun. Monsoon has arrived in the state, with the onset of monsoon, people have also got relief from the heat, and people have breathed a sigh of relief due to the rains. With the onset of the monsoon, the pace of pilgrimage seems to be slowing down. Talking about the last one week, there has been a significant decrease in the number of visitors who reached Kedarnath Yatra, as well as the pressure of passengers in the markets, pedestrian routes, and Kedarpuri is not the same as before. At the same time, the departure of pilgrims from Sonprayag from morning to afternoon has also reduced.

Kedarnath Yatra, which started on May 6, is setting new dimensions this year. While a record 23,512 devotees had darshan at the inauguration, the number of visitors reached one lakh in the first six days of the yatra. While 4,35,203 pilgrims reached the Dham in 26 days of May, 3,11,547 pilgrims reached in 19 days of June.

Since last June 13, there has been a decrease in the number of daily visitors to the Dham. If we look at the figures, from June 1-12, 2,17,803 pilgrims had reached Kedarnath, while from June 13 to 19, 93,744 pilgrims visited Kedarnath in seven days. BKTC’s media in-charge Dr. Harish Chandra Gaur told that with the onset of monsoon, the number of passengers in Kedarnath has also started decreasing.

The Yatra to Hemkund Sahib was temporarily stopped by the administration due to snowfall since Monday. After the weather opens, the journey has been started again on Tuesday. Vice President of Hemkund Sahib Management Trust Narendrajit Singh Bindra said that passengers from all stations are now moving towards Hemkund Sahib.
