Covid curfew is in Uttarakhand till 25 May. On May 24, the state government will assess the effects of corona infection and covid curfew and then decide on further strategies. However, the government is in some relief from the decreasing rate of infection in the plains districts of the state.

Government Spokesperson and Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal told media persons that cases of corona infection are declining. He indicated that the government may consider relaxing some of the Covid curfews if there is a continuous reduction in the cases till May 24, but if the cases increase, the government will continue the restrictions under the curfew and tighten it.

According to sources, the government has prepared a blueprint for the next 14 days. Under this, markets can be allowed to open one day except in the case of corona cases. But till 10 June, the government is not in favor of opening the market in the evening. The government believes that markets are more crowded in the evening, so there is a risk of spreading the infection.

Transition below three percent in three plain districts
After the implementation of the Covid curfew in the state, there has been some decrease in the rate of corona infection in the plains districts. Between May 12 and May 18, Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udhamsingh Nagar had a positivity rate of less than 20 percent. Only the Nainital district has more than 20 percent.

No hold on opening workshop
Government spokesman Subodh Uniyal said that there is no restriction on opening workshops in the state. But the workshop will have to follow the Covid Guideline in its entirety.

Positive rates in plain districts
District rate (in percentage) infected
Dehradun        17.10              10678
US Nagar        16.03                3866
Haridwar        12.81                 5166
Nainital          24.89                3706
Note: (Positive rate is between 12 May to 18 May)

If the effect of corona infection increases in the state, then the Covid curfew will be more strict. But if there is a continuous reduction in cases, the government will consider relaxing it.
