Dehradun. Ashok Kumar, Director General of Police, Uttarakhand took cognizance of the video being circulated on social media about policemen harassing passengers in Barkot, Uttarkashi, and directed the Superintendent of Police, Uttarkashi to get the above case investigated.

In the investigation, it has been found to be of Cantonment 113 NP, Ankur Chaudhary, Thana Barkot, which has been suspended with immediate effect. Uttarakhand Police is committed to safe and smooth travel. During the Chardham Yatra, the police are working on the theme of “Atithi Devo Bhava”. The devotees will not be allowed to face any kind of inconvenience during the journey. The policeman who tarnishes the image of the police will not be spared under any circumstances, strictest action will be taken against such policeman.
