Dehradun. There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in the next 24 hours in the state’s Dehradun, Bageshwar, and Uttarkashi districts. In view of heavy rains, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert. Director of Meteorological Center Vikram Singh said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, and Bageshwar within 24 hours.

In view of the possibility of heavy rains in these districts, there is a need to be very cautious. At the same time, in view of the possibility of heavy rains in the capital Doon and surrounding areas, DM Sonika has ordered all the officers related to disaster management to remain alert.

163 motorways are closed due to rain in the state. Part of Lambgaon-Motna-Rajakhet motorway in Tehri has been washed away. The Rupradrayag-Pokhari Gopeshwar and Tharali-Dewal-Mundoli-Van motorways in the Chamoli district have also been closed. Due to this tourists as well as local people are facing problems. According to the State Disaster Operation Center, efforts are being made to open the closed roads in the state.

398 machines have been installed by the Public Works Department to open the closed roads. AIS model GPS has been established in most of the machines whereas power supply is smooth in most of the districts of the state from the Energy Department, under the village Banspatan area in Pithoragarh Tehsil-Berinag district and due to heavy rains in Dharchula, some villages like- Hunera, an Electricity supply is disrupted in Khumti, Talikand, and Dhilam, etc.

Efforts are being made by the Electricity Department to restore the power supply in these villages. It has been told from the operational center that the electricity system was disrupted in 103 villages in the state, out of which the electricity system in 94 villages has been restored. Apart from this, 65 schemes affected by the Drinking Water Corporation during the monsoon period have been streamlined.
