Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a meeting of the State Level Guiding Committee constituted in relation to the State Integrated Cooperative Development Project was organized at the Secretariat. Cabinet Ministers Prem Chand Aggarwal, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, and Saurabh Bahuguna were also present at the meeting.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that for the all-round development of cooperatives, to prevent migration from rural areas, to generate employment in rural areas, and to increase the income of farmers, the funds sanctioned by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India for the State Integrated Cooperative Development Project should be put to better use. Pay special attention to the direction. Vocal for local should be promoted rapidly in the state. Special attention should be given to branding and marketing of local and dairy products.
The Chief Minister said that efforts should be made in this direction to make full availability of local products in relation to their demand. Through the schemes operated under this, more and more people in the state can join self-employment, so that it should be ensured that the benefits of departmental schemes reach the common people. In this regard, the Chief Minister also instructed all the departments to work in coordination. The Chief Minister said that people should be motivated to promote such products after assessing the area where production can be more. It should be ensured that loans are easily available to the general public for various schemes. Farmers and animal herders should be made aware of such products, from whose production they can get more profit. The Chief Minister said that this meeting should be held every six months.
Cabinet Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal said that under the State Integrated Cooperative Development Project, more rapid work should be done for the development of cooperatives and for the benefit of farmers and cattle herders with the funds received from the Central Government. We have to promote the products according to the demand of the public.
Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that to make barren lands fertile, work is being done by taking such land on lease through PACS. Through cooperatives, attention is being paid to green maize cultivation and silage production, production of off-season vegetables, spices, and coarse grains. Their collection and aggregation centers are also being established.
Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna said that there is a good increase in the income of farmers in the field of poultry farming and fisheries. Goat Valley has also been started in the state. Milk producers are getting good benefits through milk product service centers in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Haridwar, and Tehri. The production of trout fish has also increased rapidly in the state, due to which the income of fish farmers has increased. He said that there are many possibilities in the animal husbandry sector in the state so that people can get maximum benefits from the schemes of the Central and State governments, for this he also told the need for concerted efforts at the departmental level.
