Rishabh Shetty’s film Kantara has been released on OTT sometime back after creating a buzz in theatres. However, the audience was slightly dissatisfied due to the absence of its song Varaha Roopam in the film. Now is the time for the audience to rejoice. The ban on Varaha Roopam has been lifted by the court and the song has been included back in the film. The makers of the film as well as the audience are very happy about it.

In October, a Kozhikode court ordered the removal of Varaha Roopam from all streaming platforms, including theatres. Kerala-based band Thaikudam Bridge filed a copyright infringement case against the film. According to the band, there is a lot of similarity between Varaha Roopam and their song Navarasam. The band’s song Navarasam was released in 2015. On this, the makers argued that both the songs are of the same raga and hence sound similar.

Rishabh Shetty expressed happiness over the comeback of the song on Twitter. Not only the makers, but the audience is also happy about its return. Some viewers even believe that this song is the soul of the film. The film is incomplete without it. One user wrote this song is nothing less than a blessing. At the same time, another fan wrote that he got goosebumps listening to this song.

Kantara was well-received by the audience as well as the critics. The film received a huge audience across the world. The film earned more than Rs 400 crore worldwide. With this, Kantara became the second Kannada film after KGF: Chapter 2 to touch this figure. It has left behind KGF: Chapter 2 in Karnataka in terms of earnings. In Karnataka, the film earned around Rs 168 crore.

The film was released in Kannada on 30 September. It was released on 14 October in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The plot of Kantara is based in 1847. The film is a story of the conflict between man and nature. The film depicts a fictional village in the coastal regions of Karnataka. Rishabh Shetty is seen in the lead role in the film. The film is one of the highest-rated Indian films on IMDb.
