Dehradun. Amidst rumors of a shortage of diesel, and petrol in many petrol pumps of the district including the capital Doon, District Magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar called a meeting with the officials of the oil companies along with the District Supply Department on the previous day.

In the meeting, DM Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said that a shortage of petrol and diesel is being reported at many petrol pumps in the capital and consumers are facing problems. On this, the officials of BPCL and IOCL told the DM that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel.

Officials of BPCL and IOCL informed the DM that an adequate oil supply is being ensured. Due to the shortage of oil at some of the pumps of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, the pressure on other pumps has increased, for which efforts are being made by the officials of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited to normalize the situation.

Officials of the oil companies categorically rejected this fact, apart from Doon, there is a huge shortage of petrol and diesel in the entire district. The officials of the oil companies assured the DM that in the future also there will be no problem regarding petrol or diesel.

The DM directed all the sub-district magistrates, district supply officers, and officers of oil companies to ensure that adequate stock of petrol and diesel is available at all petrol pumps and people do not face any kind of problem.

The DM also instructed the officials of the oil companies along with the administrative officers to mark those spreading rumors about petrol and diesel and ensure action against them. The DM directed the officials of IOC, BPCL, and HPCL oil companies to make available the information about the stock, lifting, and distribution of petrol, and diesel at each retail outlet to the District Supply Officer. The DM categorically rejected the allegations that there is a shortage of petrol and diesel in the capital.
