Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the team

Dehradun. A historic movement was started by Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) in association with Trek the Himalayas. Under this, a team of 25 members of experts will travel more than 1200 km to find the old routes on the Chardham trek. The team was flagged off by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami from the Chief Minister’s residence. Under the campaign, an elite team of 25 members will work for more than 50 days to find the old Char Dham and the winter Char Dham route.

Congratulating the trekkers, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “It is a proud moment that we have a young force to explore the old trails of Uttarakhand. This initiative will be a big step towards preserving our age-old heritage. This will also give a boost to our Char Dham Yatra and Uttarakhand will get a new identity.

Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar said the special team of 25 members is well equipped with all necessary equipment for a safe journey. This quest to trace the age-old route for Chardham Yatra will help us rediscover ways to develop more routes to different places. This special campaign will also encourage adventure sports in Uttarakhand. The team will also document the journey which will help us formulate new government policies in the near future.

Additional Tourism Secretary Yugal Kishore Pant said, “The objective of this special campaign is to strengthen the valuable history, traditions, and rich culture by spreading environmental awareness, promoting homestays, local culture, traditions, and native employment. Through this campaign, we will also be able to collect an important document. Along with rediscovering the ancient route, the team will also inform the local people about Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Griha Awas Yojana.

Project Manager Founder TTH Rakesh Pant said, “The journey is divided into 5 phases. Stage 1 will involve Rishikesh to Yamunotri, Stage 2- Yamnotri to Gangotri, Stage 3 – Gangotri to Kedarnath, Stage 4- Kedarnath to Badrinath, and Stage 5 will bring the team back from Badrinath to Rishikesh. During the yatra, the team also revisited various chhattis (established by Baba Kali Kamali group) used in the old yatra as a structured system of providing free ration and dharamsala to make the quest more comfortable for the travelers. Will find out. This trail will also be the third-longest in the world after Japan and America.
