Dehradun. Vandana Kataria from the small village of Haridwar has proved her talent in the Olympics. Indian women’s hockey team player Vandana Kataria has created history in the Tokyo Olympics. In the match against South Africa, Vandana scored three goals and played a key role in winning the team.

Vandana has also won the title of the first Indian female hockey player by putting a hat-trick in the Olympics. Let us tell you that no Indian had scored a hat-trick in the Olympics after 1984.

Vandana has paid tribute to the late father with a historic achievement. Due to her preparation, she could not come to the village even after the death of her father. On this achievement of Vandana, there is an atmosphere of celebration among the family members, villagers, and sports officials of the district. Vandana Kataria, a resident of Roshanabad village of Bahadarabad block area, has worked hard to make hockey her career along with her studies.

Vandana Kataria was born on 15 April 1992 in Roshanabad. Vandana Kataria first participated in the junior international competition in 2006. In the year 2013, she was successful in scoring the most goals in the country.

Vandana Kataria became the bronze medalist in the Junior Women’s World Cup held in Germany. Vandana never looked back in hockey again. She has also been the captain of the Indian women’s hockey team.

Father Nahar Singh died suddenly in May 2021. The village could not come then. Then she was preparing for the Olympics in the ongoing camp in Bangalore. There is a celebration in the village for his hat-trick.

The villagers are reaching the family members to wish them well. Deputy District Sports Officer Varun Belwal has congratulated Vandana Kataria. She has said that she hopes that with the blessings of crores of Indians, the women’s hockey team will definitely bring medals from the Olympics.
