Surprising everyone in Uttarakhand, Pauri Garhwal MP Tirath Singh Rawat became the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. After becoming CM, Tirath will have to take membership of the assembly within the next six months. For this, they will have to win the by-election from any assembly seat in Uttarakhand. At present, the Salt Assembly seat in Uttarakhand is vacant. There is speculation that instead of resigning a BJP leader from the membership of the assembly, Tirath Singh Rawat may be contesting the assembly from Salt.

The Salt seat was vacant after the death of BJP MLA Surendra Singh Jeena. Assembly by-election is going to be held soon on this seat. Local BJP leaders are also preparing to contest from here. After the latest political developments, it is being speculated that BJP may nominate Tirath Singh Rawat from this seat. There are important reasons for this. The first is that the Salt Assembly seat is closely adjacent to the Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat.

Hence Tirath Rawat is a well-known name here. Secondly, if CM will contest from BJP from this seat, then the victory of the party from this seat will also be considered almost certain. Also, Tirath Singh will not have to vacate the seat of any MLA to contest the election. Not only this, on the basis of caste, the Salt Assembly seat is a Thakur voter-dominated seat. In such a situation, it will be easy for Thakur CM to win from here.

The fifth MP to become CM
There is also an important reason that this assembly seat was backward in terms of development even before the formation of the state, whereas there is a lot of development potential here. The road from Ramnagar to Garrison, Karnprayag is only through the Salt Assembly seat.

If you become CM MLAs from here, then there is a possibility of some good in the field of development of this area as well. Now it remains to be seen from where the BARPJA leadership conducts elections to make the CM a member of the Legislative Assembly.

At the same time, let me tell you that before MP Tirath Rawat, four MPs have become CM of Uttarakhand. He later had to fight the by-election to become a member of the Legislative Assembly. The tradition was started in 2002 by the then CM ND Tiwari. He was a Lok Sabha MP from Nainital. He won the by-election from the Ramnagar assembly seat after becoming CM. Similarly, Bhuvan Chandra, who was an MP from Pauri Garhwal, became an MLA from Dhumakot after becoming the CM of Khanduri state.

After this, when Vijay Bahuguna, MP from Tehri, became the CM of the Congress, he won the assembly elections from Sitarganj. Senior Congress leader Harish Rawat won the assembly elections from Dharchula when he became CM. The party’s MLA Harish Dhami left the seat for him.
