Today is Maha Shivaratri. In Haridwar, there is an influx of devotees for the royal bath at Har Ki Pauri. The Kumbh will start from April 1, but the Kumbh Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) of the Kovid rescue for the first royal bath has come into force. The SOP will be in force till tomorrow.

Under this, every person coming to Haridwar will have to register on the Kumbh Mela portal and bring the Kovid Negative Report 72 hours before. Before the SOP comes into force, people coming to Haridwar and staying in hotels, Dharamsala and ashrams will also be screened. 40 teams will also conduct random checks of Kovid in the border and fair area.

Mela Officer Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate C Ravi Shankar, and IG Kumbh Sanjay Gunjyal have issued instructions to strictly follow the SOP by mutual coordination with the officials of the district, fair police-administration, and health department. In a meeting held at the Mela Control Building Auditorium, Mela Officer Deepak Rawat said that the rescue from Kovid-19 is a big challenge.

The SOP will be strictly observed at the first royal bath of the akhadas on Mahashivaratri. Registration will be mandatory for every visitor to Haridwar and random checks will be done on the border. Teams of Police-Administration and the Health Department will be present on all the borders of the district.

Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat joined the meetings as soon as he took command of power. First, he reviewed the preparations for Haridwar Kumbh Mela. Rawat said that in the first royal bath on the Mahashivaratri festival, devotees will be wreathed with helicopters.
