The vaccination campaign is gaining momentum in the state to prevent Covid infection. In August, a record has been set for the maximum number of people administered the vaccine, in which more than 26 lakh people have got the first or second dose of the Covid vaccine. So far, only seven percent of the total vaccinations have been given Covaxin. Whereas 93 percent have been vaccinated with Covishield.

More than 85 lakh people got vaccine dose
The covid vaccination campaign was started in the state on 16 January 2021. So far, more than 85 lakh people have been given vaccine doses. In which 76 percent were given the first dose and 24 percent were given the second dose. According to the data of the government’s Covid portal, 44.66 lakh people in the age group of 18 to 44, 23.22 lakh in the age group of 45 to 60, and more than 17.28 lakh people in the age group above 60 have been vaccinated.

Target to complete vaccination by 31st December 2021
In August, a record has been set for injecting the maximum number of vaccine doses to more than 26 lakh people. The government has set a target to complete the vaccination by December 31, 2021. The pace of vaccination is increasing to provide adequate vaccines from the center.

Anoop Nautiyal, president of the Social Development for Community Foundation, says that within the last nine months, a record has been set for the maximum number of people vaccinated in August. Vaccination is gaining momentum in the state.
