From Uttarakhand to West Bengal, along with the corona-infected patients, the Ganga watchdog will also keep an eye on the other dead bodies being thrown into the Ganges river. Under the National Mission for Clean Ganga i.e. NMCG, the Ganga Praharis, who are responsible for making the Ganga river pollution-free, have been requested to conduct awareness programs to make Ganga pollution-free as well as on the bodies being thrown in the river. Keep an eye too. Also, make people aware that they should not do this.

Dr. Ruchi Barola, the Senior Scientist at Wildlife Institute of India and Nodal Officer of National Mission for Clean Ganga, said that all the programs are being conducted to make the Ganga river pollution-free from Uttarakhand to West Bengal.

Through Ganga Praharis, the villagers of the villages situated on the banks of the river are being informed about how they can ultimately contribute at their level in making the river clean. The Ganga Praharis have also been requested to keep a close watch on the dumping of dead bodies in the river. Also, make people aware not to do this.

There are more than 2500 Ganga Praharis in the state
At present, there are more than 2500 Ganga Praharis in the state. They have the responsibility of monitoring and creating awareness about the cleanliness of the Ganga. At present, these are the tasks of stopping the dumping of flowers, cut trees and plants, garbage and construction materials in the Ganges, and monitoring and reporting to the administration. Along with this, there is also work to make people living in the coastal areas aware of them.

4535 crore budget was received from the World Bank
A massive budget is being provided by the World Bank under the National Mission for Clean Ganga. A budget of 4535 crores has been allocated by the World Bank till December 2021. Not only this, 313 projects worth Rs 25,000 crore have been approved under the National Mission for Clean Ganga.

Cases of bodies being thrown in Ganga were found in UP-Bihar
Recently, in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, after the death of corona-infected patients, the case of bodies being thrown into the Ganga was exposed. After this, the governments became active regarding the cleanliness of the Ganges and ordered monitoring in their respective areas.
