The activities of dragons on the border are increasing. In such a situation, there is a need to bring SSB in its old form. Its benefit can be given to the marginal area adjacent to the border of other countries including China, but it will also be beneficial for the country.

The Secret Service Bureau (SSB) was formed under the Union Cabinet in 1963 in view of the circumstances arising after the Indo-China war of 1962. In the year 2001, the NDA Government gave the status of Paramilitary Force to SSB as Sashastra Seema Bal and brought this force under the Ministry of Home Affairs. This ended the role of the guerrillas. Since then the training of weapons in the villages of the frontier also stopped.

The SSB was formed purely for intelligence gathering and arms training to the people in the villages of the frontier. For decades, this force performed its responsibility well. There were special volunteers of the guerrilla force, who were given rigorous training in proxy warfare for 45 days at Sarahan and Gwaldam Chamoli in Himachal. Even after guerrilla training, these people were trained from time to time.

He was also given an honorarium for the training period. Volunteers trained in proxy warfare are called guerrillas. Before changing the role of SSB, only guerrillas were recruited in SSB. After changing the form of SSB, the guerrillas of Northeast were accommodated in the SSB in the year 2004 but the guerrillas of many border states including Uttarakhand were not accommodated in the SSB. Guerrilla volunteers are of the opinion that the role of guerrillas can be important. The central government should seriously consider this.

In the year 2015, the Ministry of Home Affairs had done the verification of the guerrillas
The number of SSB-trained volunteers in Uttarakhand is close to 20 thousand. SSB guerrillas have been fighting for their rights since 2004. There is continuous agitation in Almora since 2004. Pension is being sought for adjustment of underage guerrillas in SSB, older volunteers, and next of kin of deceased gorillas.

In the year 2015, the Union Home Ministry had got the guerrillas verified. It was expected that a decision would be taken by accommodating the guerrillas, but nothing like this happened. Brahmanand Dalakoti, the central president of the SSB volunteer organization, says that the central government is not understanding the importance of guerrillas. It’s painful. It is said that again youth should be given guerrilla training in the frontier areas.

The central government has asked the state government to give jobs to SSB volunteers. The matter of providing arms training to the youth in the frontier areas again will be taken up with the Ministry of Home Affairs. Efforts will be made to fulfill the demand of the guerrillas.
