Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Yojana will start in Uttarakhand from today. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will launch the scheme from CM Awas. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya said that this scheme is being started to encourage the care of mother and girl children after delivery.

Under the scheme, a Chief Minister Mahalakshmi kit will be given to a woman after the birth of the first two girls and separate kits will be given to women and children on the birth of twin girls. For this, registration at Anganwadi centers will be necessary.

Requirements for application
Registration at Anganwadi centers, copy of Mother-child Raksha Card, institutional delivery certificate, certificate issued by Anganwadi or Asha worker, if the delivery has taken place at home, copy of the family register, self-attested declaration of the birth of first, second, or twin girl Certificate of not being a regular government, semi-government servant and income taxpayer.

There is a need to make people aware of the scheme so that the benefits of the scheme reach the eligible beneficiaries in the state. It is the effort of the department that a maximum number of people join the scheme.
