The decision on when the Chardham Yatra will start in Uttarakhand can be taken after a hearing in the High Court on Wednesday. Public interest litigation regarding the arrangements of the state government in the prevention of the Covid 19 epidemic is to be heard in the court on Tuesday. The state government has to present its side before the court.

The court has expressed its displeasure over the non-compliance of the guidelines of the Covid 19 epidemic at the time of opening the doors of Chardham. Due to the matter being in court, on Monday, the state government pulled back its steps to open the Chardham Yatra.

Otherwise, the government had given conditional permission for the local people of Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi to visit Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Dham located in their respective districts. RTPCR negative test report was made mandatory for all passengers.

The decision-making committee on the Covid curfew had asked the tourism department to issue a standard operating procedure in this regard at its level. But when Secretary Tourism told that on June 16, there is a hearing in the court. The government withheld the decision. Government spokesperson Subodh Uniyal said that the decision on Chardham Yatra has been withheld as the matter is sub-judice in the court. According to Uniyal, the future form of Chardham Yatra will be decided after June 16.

Chardham Yatra will start soon with a new guideline
Badrinath Assembly MLA and Devasthanam Board member Mahendra Bhatt say that Chardham Yatra will be started soon. A new guideline is being prepared for the journey.

The MLA said that the traders of the Chardham Yatra routes have suffered the most. Spoke to the Chief Minister to give them some relief. The Yatra will be opened early with certain conditions. Apart from this, he said that there are 38 villages in the district which are in danger. But are not in the category of rehabilitation, after completing all the necessary procedures, they will also be kept in the category of rehabilitation.

Efforts are also being made to set up oxygen plants in Joshimath and Pokhari soon. The MLA said that the place where there was talk of making a helipad at Auli is being transferred to the Sports Department at the request of the local sports lovers.

Now a helipad will be built on Auli Road. The land has been seen for this. His survey has also been done. During this, BJP District President Raghuveer Bisht, Gajendra Rawat, Vinod Kanvasi, etc. were present.
