The Delhi Police have arrested two accused Mohinder Singh and Mandeep Singh from Jammu in the violence that took place on January 26, during the tractor rally, taken out in protest against the agricultural law.

The accused also waved a sword at the Red Fort dome. It is the companion of the accused who hoists the flag on the Red Fort. Special Police Commissioner (Crime Branch) of Delhi Police, Praveer Ranjan has confirmed Jasprit’s arrest.

Special Commissioner of Police Praveer Ranjan said that on 26 January Jaspreet was present on the Red Fort and he was among the accused who climbed into the Red Fort’s dome to hoist the religious flag. Jasprit, who lives in Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar, is a companion of Maninder who was arrested on Tuesday. He along with Maninder had joined the tractor rally from Swaroop Nagar and had reached Lalkila by motorcycle along with Maninder. He was standing behind Maninder Singh hoisting the flag on the Red Fort.

Jaspreet Singh (29) was seen waving a sword with both hands in the video that surfaced after the violence on the Red Fort. After this, he also climbed a dome located in the Rampart of the Red Fort. He was also provoking people with a steel rod. He is seen in the video inciting people. Police have arrested Deep Sidhu and Maninder Singh, among others, for hoisting the religious flag and committing violence on the Red Fort.

Significantly, on January 26, some people who had participated in the tractor parade of farmers reached the Red Fort. The miscreants attacked the policemen present at the Red Fort. They hoisted the religious flag on the Red Fort, vandalizing it fiercely.
