In a meeting held in Rathal on Sunday, the Dayara Tourism Festival Committee decided to organize the Butter Festival in Dayara Bugyal in a grand manner, traditionally on August 17 this year. Due to the Corona crisis for two years, the Butter Festival was organized by the villagers at a very micro level while discharging the traditions at their own level. In the event to be held this year, in Dayara Bugyal, the villagers will play Makhan Whey Holi with the guests coming from abroad on August 17.

On this occasion, Dayara Tourism Festival Committee Rathal President Manoj Rana, Sarpanch Gajendra Rana, Deputy President Raithal Vijay Singh Rana, Ward Member Buddhi Lal Arya, Committee Members Mohan Kuswal, Suresh Raturi, Sandeep Rana, Yashvir Rana, Rajveer Rawat, Vijay Singh Rana, Pankaj Kuswal, Praveen Rawat and others were present.

With the onset of summer, the villagers of Adhundi festival i.e. unique Holi of milk butter and whey reach for their summer stay in Goi Chilapada including Dayara Bugyal along with their cattle. The effect of grass rich in medicinal properties and favorable environment growing in high -bugyal also reads on the milk production of milch animals. In such a situation, even before the onset of winter in high-altitude areas, the villagers organize this unique festival to thank nature for protecting themselves and their cattle before returning back from the month of September. In this butter festival locally known as Adhundi festival, Holi is played with fresh butter and buttermilk at an altitude of 11,000 feet above sea level.
