In order to create curiosity among the school children of the state, Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat today flagged off the mobile library by duly launching the ‘Reading Campaign’ and ‘Book Parikrama’ at the Directorate General of Education, Nanurkheda. He said that this campaign organized under the aegis of “Room to Read” and “National Book Trust” would prove to be important in promoting book culture in the state. Dr. Rawat said that the National Education Policy-2022 has been implemented in the state. Under the new policy, new courses are being prepared, in which special emphasis has been laid on the interest, creativity, innovation, and employable education of the students. The Departmental Minister praised the efforts of Room to Read and the National Book Trust to take the process of reading and teaching to the village level. He said that Room to reading’s pictorial books based on local languages ​​would promote readability. Expressing happiness about the establishment of the office of the National Book Trust in the state, Dr. Rawat said that the writers, educational institutions, and readers of the state will definitely get its benefit.

On this occasion, the state in charge of Room to Read, Pushp Lata Rawat said that we should take the culture of reading to inaccessible and remote areas and a special campaign should be launched to compensate for the loss caused by the Kovid epidemic to the children. He said that the reading campaign of Room to Read would run continuously from August 15 to September 8 and during this special efforts would be made to promote the culture of reading through community participation by organizing special programs in schools, societies, and institutions. National Book Trust’s Swati Badola while clarifying the relevance of NBT’s mobile library said that even where there are no book shops, their mobile will be banned through book parikrama and will provide world-class literature to the readers. Director General School Education Vanshidhar Tiwari outlined the efforts of the department to promote the culture of books.
