Mumbai While announcing the IPL media rights, BCCI has informed that three big companies have bought IPL rights for 5 years for Rs 48,390 crore. This was confirmed by BCCI secretary Jay Shah through IPL’s official Twitter account.? The IPL Twitter account states that Star Sports India, Viacom18, and Times Internet have bought the media rights. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah congratulated the three companies in a tweet. Package A means that the TV rights of the Indian subcontinent from 2023 to 2027 of IPL have been bought by Star India. Disney Star made a bid of Rs 23,575 crore for Package A. In this way, the star will have to pay Rs 57.5 crore for an IPL match.

Viacom has bought the digital streaming rights of the Indian subcontinent for the next five years of Package B i.e. IPL for Rs 20,500 crore. Viacom will pay Rs 50 crore to BCCI for a digital stream of an IPL match.

Viacom has decided to spend Rs 3,258 crore for the media rights of Package C i.e. total of 18 matches of a season (which includes IPL opener, 13 double headers, and 4 playoff matches). In this way, BCCI will get Rs 33.24 crore for a match.
