Haridwar. There will be no shortage of any kind of food in the Mahakumbh. Yes, the government has made full arrangements for this. In Kumbh Mela, 2100 metric tonnes of ration has been allocated for arranging food for the saints and saints who have reached the akharas, ashrams, and Dharamshala. In this, wheat will be made available for five rupees, rice six rupees, and sugar 17 rupees per kilogram. Kumbh Mela Food Nodal Officer KK Aggarwal said that 3630 metric tonnes of wheat and rice were demanded by the department. Only 1810 MT has been given. Sugar demand was 600 metric tons. Its volume has also been halved.

On 11 March, after taking out Peshwai from the Akharas, the royal bath was inaugurated by Mahakumbh. Due to this, in March itself, saints and saints had reached the cantonments of akharas from every corner of the country. In view of this, the Akhada was demanding to provide ration to the Food Department. Now the government has issued an allocation of 905 metric tonnes of wheat and 905 metric tonnes of rice as well as 300 metric tonnes of sugar for the akhadas, ashrams, dharamshalas, etc. In which wheat and rice will be given at the rate of per person of three hundred and sugar hundred grams per day. Apart from this, two and a half lakh liters of kerosene has also been released, which will be given ten liters per hundred people per day. The price of kerosene has been kept at Rs 29 per liter.

Devotees can also buy ration
According to the officials of the department, government ration shops will not be opened this time in Kumbh Mela, whereas earlier government shops were opened in Kumbh Melas. The ration will be distributed directly from Jwalapur Godown. KK Agarwal, Food Nodal Officer of Kumbh Mela, told that in the Kumbh Mela, the ration will be given to the akharas and ashrams. Apart from this, devotees coming from outside the Haridwar district and Mela area alone and with family can also buy ration at cheaper rates by showing Aadhar card.

The ration will be given on the report of the Sector Magistrate
According to officials, the akharas and ashrams which will require ration at cheaper rates will have to come to the district headquarters located in the tehsil premises along with the number of people residing here and apply. After this, the food supply inspectors sent for the Kumbh Mela will go and verify. After their verification, the ration will be allotted only after the report of the sector magistrate of the concerned region.
