Rudraprayag. The sanctum sanctorum of Kedarnath temple has become gold-plated. The walls and ceiling of the sanctum sanctorum are seen in a new form with 550 gold layers. Please tell that the Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee has done this work with the help of a donor from Maharashtra. The measurement is taken after plating copper on the walls of the sanctum
Silver was first removed to make the sanctum sanctorum of Kedarnath temple gold. After removing the silver in the presence of the temple committee officials, it was kept safe in the storehouse of the temple. After that silver was replaced by copper. After plating copper on the walls of the sanctum, the measurement was taken and again this copper was taken back to Maharashtra, where a gold layer was prepared on the basis of the copper layer. These layers of gold have also been installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, the four pillars, and the water around the self-styled Shivling. In the presence of officials of the Indian Institute of Technology and Central Building Research Roorkee and Archaeological Survey of India, BKTC carried out the work of putting gold layers on the sanctum, jaleri, and roof. 19 laborers are engaged in this work. These 550 layers of gold were transported to Kedarnath from Gaurikund by horse and mules.
