Rishikesh. River rafting activity has started in the Kaudiyala-Munikireti eco-tourism zone of the Ganges. In the very first week itself, a large number of tourists gathered to enjoy the adventure on the waves of the Ganges.

Right now the weather remains favorable for rafting till the month of November, so in the coming days, the number of tourists for rafting is expected to increase significantly.

This thrill-filled adventure activity also involves risk, so it is also important to follow safety standards and instructions while rafting.

The Kaudiyala-Munikireti Eco-Tourism Zone of Rishikesh is a world famous for rafting activity.

Rafting activity is conducted in this zone of about 35 km from Malakhunti (Marine Drive) to Munikireti. For which four starting points Marine Drive, Shivpuri, Club House, and Brahmapuri have been earmarked.

The tourism department had given permission from September 10 after the report of the technical committee for the rafting activity which was closed for two months and 10 days during the monsoon period. After which rafting was first opened between Brahmapuri to Munikireti.

After this, now permission has been given to conduct rafting activity from Club House and Shivpuri as well. However, rafting from Marine Drive will have to wait a few more days.

With the commencement of the rafting season, 3122 tourists have enjoyed river rafting in the Ganges in the last three days. This number explains the trend of tourists toward rafting.

However, till the end of November, the weather remains favorable for rafting in the Ganges. After this, the rafting activity becomes sluggish till February when the coolness increases. In such a situation, the number of tourists is expected to increase further in the coming days.
