Dehradun. On March 1 at the holy festival of Mahashivratri, special worship will start from 7 am in the winter seat of Omkareshwar temple. Bhog will be offered to the adorable deities after adornment and aarti. In the presence of Rawal Bhimashankar Linga of Kedarnath at 9.30 am, the date and time of opening of the doors of the Kedarnath temple will be announced by the Acharyas and Vedapathis after counting the Panchang. Along with this, the day of departure from Omkareshwar temple, the winter seat of Baba’s Panchmukhi moving festival Vigraha Doli, will also be decided.

Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee President Ajendra Ajay told that all the preparations have been started in the Omkareshwar temple. Here, the committee’s media in-charge, Dr. Harish Chandra Gaur told that on the festival of Mahashivratri, after the rituals in the temple, bhajan-kirtan will also be organized. The date of opening of the doors of 11th Kedarnath Dham in the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Ashutosh is holy of Mahashivratri. In the presence of Rawal Bhimashankar in the Omkareshwar temple, Ukhimath, the winter seat on the festival will be calculated from the calendar. Along with special worship on the occasion, Mahayagya rituals will also be performed for the welfare of the world.
