Although before this he used to go to the polling booth every time to cast his vote. He was welcomed by the Election Commission on the red carpet at the polling booth. This time too, Negi himself wanted him to go to the polling booth to vote, but when his body did not support him, he accepted the advice of the family members and cast his vote from home. He had put it from his house on Wednesday.

Shyam Saran Negi was also made the brand ambassador by the Election Commission during the 2014 general elections. On June 12, 2010, the Chief Election Commissioner also congratulated him for coming to Kalpa and being the first voter. Master Shyam Saran Negi, after casting his vote for the last time, said that voting is a great festival of democracy. We all must exercise our franchise so that the democracy of the country can be strengthened. Every election should be considered as a religion because it is through religion that a good man should be sent forward.
