Dehradun. The continuous road accidents in Uttarakhand have increased the concern of the BJP government. Since the start of the Chardham Yatra in the state, the number of road accidents has increased continuously. At present, there are 46 black spots in the state, on which there are no security arrangements. Whereas the number of places vulnerable to accidents has been close to 2533. DPR-tendering is going on at 733 in 2533 sensitive locations. Whereas work has not even started on 65 of these. Your own newspaper Hindustan, on Friday, investigated the security arrangements in the area prone to road accidents, then this picture came to the fore.

Tehri Garhwal
Before the start of the yatra in Tehri, 386 sensitive areas were marked. Of these, security arrangements are half-complete at 156 places. At present, six places, Saknidhar, Moolagaon, Totaghati, three Dhara, Sulyadhar, and Kangsali black spots have been marked in the district. ARTO Chakrapani Mishra said that security work has been done on most of the black spots, but the accident zone remains due to landslides in Totaghati.

Uttarkashi
In Uttarkashi, there are 11 vulnerable areas on the Gangotri National Highway and 14 on the Yamunotri National Highway in terms of road accidents. There is no security on any of them. Crush barriers are not installed along with sign boards even on sharp turns on Yamunotri National Highway. Accidents have reduced around Damta and Rikhau Khad near Naugaon. More than fifty people have lost their lives in these.

Pauri Garhwal
There were three black spots mainly in terms of road accidents in Srinagar. Out of which, security measures have been taken by widening the road and making perafeet near Maldhaiya and Farasu Hanuman temple near Sriyantra island. Recently, in Chamdhar near Dhari Devi temple, which became a black spot, the work has not been completed in terms of road safety for safety.

Dehradun
There are 49 black spots on the roads of the Dehradun district. Shiv Mandir on Mussoorie Road, Maggi Point, DIT, Sai Mandir, NIVH, Kishannagar on Chakrata Road, Shani Mandir, Shimla Bypass, Dharmawala, IT Park, Seven Modes in Rishikesh, Kali Mandir, near RTO office are black spots. No security work has been done so far at these 19 spots.

Transport Minister Chandan Ram Das is making security arrangements at sensitive places. The construction agencies and departments have been directed to make priority improvements in areas prone to black spots and accidents. I am monitoring it myself.
