In the meeting of the Devasthanam Management Board, there was no discussion on the issue of dissolving the board, a setback to the pilgrimage priests. They were expecting some decision regarding their agitation in the board meeting.

Displeasure among pilgrimage priests for not taking a decision on the Devasthanam board
Devbhoomi Teerth Purohit Hakhakukdhari Mahapanchayat alleged that under pressure from the Center, the government was avoiding reconsidering the Chardham Devasthanam Board. Due to not taking concrete decisions on the Devasthanam board, there is displeasure among the pilgrimage priests and rights holders of Chardham.

Mahapanchayat spokesperson Dr. Brijesh Sati said that recently a delegation of Chardham pilgrimage priests and rights holders had met the Chief Minister and demanded a reconsideration of the Devasthanam Board.

On this, the CM had asked the pilgrimage priests to provide documents. Documents have also been given to the CM office on behalf of the pilgrimage priests. The pilgrim priests and rights holders hoped that the government could make a decision in the Devasthanam Management Board meeting.

Due to not taking any concrete decision regarding reconsideration in the meeting, it seems that the government is adopting double standards. He said that now the agitation will be intensified against the Devasthanam Board.

Jan Aakrosh rally will be organized at Uttarkashi district headquarters on 23rd July. In which hoteliers and public representatives will also be included along with the rightful owners of pilgrimage priests.
