In the 21st board meeting of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council, many big decisions were approved

Dehradun. Approval was given on various proposals in the 21st board meeting held in the auditorium of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council (UTDB), IHM, Garhi Cantt. In view of the loss caused by the lockdown imposed in the country to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country and the world last year, from March 2020 to June 30, 2021, the fees set by the operators of various assets being operated in the state on PPP mode. Forgiveness was also discussed in detail. Along with this, the recruitment process will also be started soon to fill 51 vacancies in UTDB.

Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said after the 21st board meeting that Uttarakhand Tourism Department is committed to double the number of tourists visiting Uttarakhand in the coming times. Keeping this in mind, the department actively participates in major travel events like International Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF). Whereas to promote winter tourism and adventure sports along with religious tourism, winter carnivals are to be organized at many places including Nainital, Bhimtal, Pangot, Mussoorie on behalf of Uttarakhand Tourism in collaboration with the district administration. Apart from this, Uttarakhand Water Sports Policy, Trekking Rules, Paramotor Rules are being prepared in addition to the previously advertised Rafting and Paramotor Rules to control the activities of adventure tourism in the state. With a view to promote tourism in the state of Uttarakhand and to provide self-employment at the local level, a caravanning policy has been prepared by the Uttarakhand Tourism Department to identify tourism caravans or motor houses. Under which facilities will be developed at various places in the state for caravanning vehicle parking for the tourists coming to the state.

Dilip Jawalkar, Secretary of Tourism after the 21st Board meeting said that the instructions given by the Tourism Minister will be followed strictly. Uttarakhand tourism will get a boost from the decisions taken in the board meeting. Secretary Tourism said that the decisions taken in the 20th board meeting were also reviewed on this occasion. In the meeting, Additional Secretary Tourism Couple Kishore Pant, Narendra Bhandari MD KMVN, Neha Verma Additional Secretary Forest and Environment, Atar Singh Additional Secretary PWD, Additional Chief Executive Officer (Adventure Tourism) Col Ashwini Pundir, Prakash Joshi Deputy Secretary Energy, Deepti Mishra, Deputy Secretary Finance (Deputation), Director Finance Jagat Singh Chauhan, Director Infrastructure Lt Col Deepak Khanduri, Additional Director Poonam Chand, Additional Director Vivek Singh Chauhan, Deputy Director Yogendra Kumar Gangwar, Senior Research Officer Surendra Singh Samant, Basant Singh Bisht (Online) Non-official Member, Smt. Uttara Bansal non-official member, Major Yogendra Yadav member, Meera Raturi non-official member, Sharad Srivastava, Superintending Engineer, Vipin Chaudhary, review officer, Skill and officers of the department were present.

Tourism Minister reviews the preparations for the adventure summit
To promote adventure tourism in Uttarakhand, the Tourism Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj held a review meeting with the departmental officers in the auditorium of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council (UTDB) at Garhi Cantt on Monday for the preparations for the adventure summit to be held in Ramnagar in December.

Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that local stakeholders associated with adventure tourism would also be invited to the event. Stakeholders and tour operators of other adventure tourism destinations including Bhimtal, Rishikesh, Ramnagar, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh will be benefited by organizing a tourism summit. He said that the aim of the government is to provide financial strength to the local youth by emphasizing infrastructure development in the field of adventure tourism. He called upon organizations related to rafting, paragliding, mountaineering, trekking, and other fields to participate in the summit.
