Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the ‘Bharat Toy Fair’ (The India Toy Fair 2021) through video conferencing at 11 am on Saturday. In order to make the country a global hub of toy manufacturing under the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign, the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women and Child Development, and Ministry of Textiles are organizing it. So far more than 10 lakh registrations have been done for Bharat Toy Fair.

On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of India Toy Fair-2021, Prime Minister Modi said, “By talking to all of you, it is known that there is a huge power hidden in our country’s toy industry.” Increasing this strength, increasing its identity is a big part of the self-reliant India campaign. He said that the first toy fair is not just a business or economic event. This program is a link to strengthen the country’s age-old culture of sports and gaiety.

People used to come to India and learn the game: Modi
PM Modi said that the whole world has done research on toys from the era of Sindhughati civilization, Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa. When travelers of the world came to India in ancient times, they used to learn and take sports with them in India.

PM said today’s weather is Chaturanga of India
Prime Minister Modi said that chess which is so popular in the world today was earlier played in India as ‘Chaturanga or Chaduranga’. Modern Ludo was then played as ‘Pachisi’. In our scriptures also, there are descriptions of different toys for Bal Ram.

Prime Minister Modi said that the way Indians have been part of the lifestyle, the same is reflected in our toys. Most Indian toys are made from natural and eco-friendly items, the colors used in them are also natural and safe.

Indian toys cheaper than fancy toys: PM
Toys were made here, which contribute to the all-around development of children. Even today Indian toys are much simpler and cheaper than modern toys, they are also associated with the socio-geographical environment.

Modi mentioned this poem of Tagore:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address that Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore said in his poem – “A toy takes children to an infinite world of happiness.” Each color of a toy spreads a lot of colors in the child’s life.

Need to understand the scientific side of toys
Prime Minister Modi said that these variations are seen as a strength in our traditions, food, and dress. In the same way, the Indian toy industry can also encourage this unique Indian perspective to Indian thinking. The scientific aspect of toys, the role of toys in the development of children, parents should understand it and teachers should also use it in schools. The country is also taking effective steps in this direction, taking necessary steps in the system.

The toy industry ranked in 24 major sectors.
The new national education policy incorporates play-based and activity-based education on a large scale. This is such an education system, in which special attention is given to increase logical and creative thinking through riddles and games. The PM said that the country has ranked the toy industry in 24 major sectors. The National Toy Action Plan has also been prepared. It has included 15 ministries and departments so that these industries become competitive, countries become self-sufficient in toys and India’s toys go into the world.

Hand made in India demand
PM Modi said that on this occasion of Toy Fair today, it is the responsibility of all of us to give modern incarnation to this energy, realize these possibilities. If there is a demand for Made in India today, then the demand for Hand Made in India is increasing equally.
