Dehradun. According to Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, an orange alert has been issued in most areas of the state for the next three days.

A red alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall on the 17th. During this, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in some places.

The hill districts are prone to landslides and rock slides. Due to the overflow of rivers and streams, there may be a danger to the people around.

At the same time, it has been cloudy in Dehradun since early morning and a drop in temperature has been recorded. Rishikesh, Pauri, and Kotdwar also received rain in the early hours of Wednesday.

After the alert of the Meteorological Department, Chamoli District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana declared a holiday in all the schools operating in the district on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department has forecast that there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in the district.

Due to landslides at various places in Jaunsar-Bawar, traffic on ten motorways came to a standstill due to debris coming on the road. The security wall of many roads has also been damaged, due to which traffic has been affected for a long time. Farmers appeared upset as vehicles loaded with produce were stranded at places as traffic was affected on the roads.

The life of the villagers has been affected due to the closure of seven roads of Lonvi Chakrata, two of Lonvi Sahiya, and one of PMGSY due to landslides. Makati-Pokhari-Kanoi, Kharsi, Savra-Chachhuwa Kheda, Koti-Bawar motor road, Meghatu Munda, Atal Sainj, Koti-Kanasar Rajanu motor road under Lonvi Chakrata were closed due to landslides.
