Dehradun. If all goes well, Uttarakhand Transport buses will be able to enter Delhi easily in the coming years. Yes, this year roadways buses will start running on CNG. For this, the Transport Corporation has opened the tender. The firm to which the tender has come will start its work as soon as the code of conduct is over. In fact, the Transport Corporation had decided to operate the bus from a relatively less expensive CNG in the board meeting.

It was decided that CNG kits will be installed in more than 600 buses that operate on plains. Before the code of conduct came into force, the Transport Corporation had also floated its tender. The tender has also been opened. Transport Corporation’s General Manager Operations and Technical Deepak Jain said that no further action will be started after the code of conduct are over. A budget has also been arranged for this. He expressed hope that by June-July, roadways buses would start operating from CNG.

Let us inform you that the Transport Corporation had taken some CNG buses on lease from Delhi. These buses are being operated between Doon-Delhi. The corporation is earning more from these buses as compared to diesel buses. In view of this, the corporation had decided to install CNG kits. It is believed that when CNG kit will be installed in all 600 buses, then the earnings of the Transport Corporation will also increase because CNG bus operation is much cheaper than diesel.
