Dehradun: A delegation led by Congress State President Ganesh Godiyal has met Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya in the case of tampering of postal ballot at the Army Center. During this, Godiyal has raised questions on such fraud in the postal ballot saying that it is a threat to democracy.

A delegation of the State Congress Committee led by State President Ganesh Godiyal met Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya. During this, PCC State President Ganesh Godiyal said that the way the video of fraud has come to the fore in the postal ballot. It raises a big question on the transparency of the electoral system, how the same person can use all the postal ballots. Godiyal also inquired about the process of postal ballot to be given to the army from the Chief Electoral Officer in this regard. It has also demanded that the process of postal ballot given to the army should be made transparent and the vote of every voter should be cast in one place (Army center or base camp).

At the same time, on this suggestion, Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya has also asked for a written letter from Congress, on the basis of which this letter can be sent to the Election Commission. At the same time, Godiyal also said that many complaints have also come up in the postal ballots of PWD and people above 80 years. On this, Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya said that in relation to the viral video, the concerned RO of Pithoragarh sought a reply from the army officers, to which they said that this video is not from their center.

Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat had made a video viral of postal ballot tampering in an army camp 3 days ago. Regarding which the Congress delegation met the Chief Election Commission under the leadership of State President Ganesh Godiyal today. At the same time, the Congress delegation raised questions on the fraud in the postal ballot and said that it is a threat to democracy. Therefore, transparency should be maintained in the postal ballot given to the army, so that such fraud can be stopped.
