Dehradun. To accelerate the pace of tourism in the state, a meeting was organized today under the chairmanship of Tourism, Religion and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj, taking details of ancient temples located in all the districts of the state and promoting and propagating them in terms of tourism and pilgrimage. Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj organized a virtual meeting with officials in the tourism department, Garhikant, and DTDO of 13 districts, and said that it is necessary to inform tourists and pilgrims coming to Uttarakhand about all ancient and historic temples so that tourism can be promoted in the state.

DTDO of 13 districts appeared online in the meeting and kept the details of ancient temples in their respective districts in front of the tourism minister.

During the meeting, the Tourism Minister told that he has requested the Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari to produce films on the life of famous personalities of Uttarakhand like Nain Singh Rawat, Ajit Doval, Tharu, and Boxa caste, Raja Malusai, etc. Inspire to do as well.

From the tourism point of view, Shiv Temple Kapileshwar and Jageshwar located in Almora, Patal Bhubaneswar in Pithoragarh, Baijnath, and Bagnath in Bageshwar, Kanteshwar Temple in Champawat, Bhimeshwar Temple in Nainital, Motheshwar Mahadev in Udham Singh Nagar, Koteshwar Mahadev Temple in Tehri, Rudraprayag. A total of 24 ancient Shiva temples have been identified as Panch Kedar, Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi, Daksha Prajapati Temple in Haridwar, Rudranath Shiva Temple, and Kalpeshwar Shiva Temple in Chamoli, Kyunkaleshwar Temple in Pauri, Nilkand, Ekeshwar Temple, and Lakshmandal in Dehradun…

Among the temples of Vishnu God are Badrinath Temple Chhatargula Dwarahat Almora, Ram Mandir Narayan Kali, Badrinath Almora, Vishnu Temple Kotli Gangolihat Pithoragarh, Mool Narayan Bageshwar, Narayan Koti Rudraprayag, Narayan Shila Haridwar, Panch Badri Chamoli, Satya Narayanagha Temple Deya A total of 16 Vishnu temples have been identified at the Vaishwa Temple Group Devalgarh, Uttarkashi Raghunath Galbanar, Pauri. In the Navagraha circuit, the Sun Temple at Manila Devi and Katarmal in Almora, Aditya Sun Temple, Ramak Champawat, the only ancient temple in the world located in Nainital where Guru Brihaspati is worshiped. The ancient temple of Shani Dev Maharaj in Uttarkashi Kharsali and Rahu Temple located in Pauri were identified.

Chittai Goljew and Gairan Temple in Almora, Golu Devta in Champawat, and Golu Temple located in Ghorakhal of Nainital have been identified from a tourism point of view.

In the meeting, for the increase of tourists in the state of Uttarakhand, directions were given to identify Sikh shrines, Siddhpeeths, Buddha places and Lakhudayar of Almora, Patal Rudreshwar, etc., which gave a boost to tourism in the state.

After the meeting, the tourism minister wished Igas Budhi Diwali to all the officials present and all the DTDOs of the district.
After the meeting, the Tourism Secretary gave directions to all DTDOs of the district to give details of all the religious places related to their district as soon as possible.

Secretary Tourism Dilip Javalkar, Additional Secretary Sonika, Joint Director Vivek Chauhan, Deputy Director Yogendra Kumar Gangwar, Research Officer SS Samant, and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
