Rudraprayag. 62-year-old Janki Devi of Phalai village of Agastyamuni in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand saved the life of her daughter-in-law Poonam Devi by fighting with a henchman. The elder has deep wounds on his head and other parts of his body. After first aid at CHC Agastyamuni, he has been referred to a higher center. While daughter-in-law Poonam is also injured, her condition is improving. On Thursday around 11 am, 62-year-old Janki Devi’s wife Sate Singh Rana of Falai village had gone to the forest to collect grass for the cattle along with her daughter-in-law Poonam Devi’s wife Keshav Singh. Both were cutting grass. There were other women at a distance as well. Meanwhile, Guldar hiding in the bushes attacked Poonam Devi. Seeing this, Janaki Devi clashed with the henchman shouting.

On this, Guldar left Poonam and started dragging Janaki Devi away. At this, other women including Poonam started shouting. But Janaki Devi did not lose courage. On one side Guldar was moving forward while dragging them and on the other hand, they started attacking Guldar with a sickle, which also hurt his face. Annoyed by the screams of all the women and the attack of Janaki Devi, the henchmen finally left them and ran away. The villagers admitted the injured Janaki and Poonam Devi to the Community Health Center. Where many stitches were put on the head of Janaki Devi.

He also has deep wounds on his face, back and legs. In view of the head injuries, he has been referred to the Higher Center. On the other hand, Poonam Devi’s condition is improving. He is very scared due to the fear of Guldar. On the other hand, Rudraprayag’s DFO Abhimanyu told that information is being collected about Guldar.
