Rishikesh. The news of rain in the mountains of Uttarakhand has started affecting the Chardham Yatra. Now the number of Chardham pilgrims has started decreasing. For Chardham in Rishikesh around May 15, where five to seven thousand registrations were being done, now the number of registrations in the photometric online registration counter has remained close to 1400.

In view of bad weather and rain in the mountain, there has been a decrease in the number of Chardham pilgrims. The journey has been at its peak for almost a month. Due to this, the system of government and administration was also reduced. People were also facing difficulties in registering for the yatra. The situation was that many days later dates were being given to the passengers for darshan. In Rishikesh, five to seven thousand pilgrims were registered in the month of May, but now the arrangements for the journey are back on track. Along with this, gradually the crowd of pilgrims is also decreasing. On Friday, easy registration of passengers was done in the photometric registration of Chardham Bus Terminal Compound located in Rishikesh. SDAF Inspector Kavinder Sajwan said that on Friday, 1400 passengers registered for Chardham Yatra.

The weather is going to change once again in Uttarakhand. For the next four days, the weather will be completely changed in the state. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in many districts including Char Dham in the state for the next few days. In such a situation, the tourism department has appealed to the tourists coming to Uttarakhand.

Make a plan to come to Uttarakhand only after registering and taking full information about the weather and routes from the troll-free number of the control room made in the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council (UTDB) or the official website of the Meteorological Department. Apart from this, the pilgrims should also carry woolen clothes, an umbrella, raincoat, waterproof trekking shoes, a walking stick, a cap, and gloves with them during the journey. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder in most places on June 17. Whereas in Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some places. There is a possibility of rain in the state on June 18 as well.

Whereas on June 19, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder in the areas of the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions. On June 20 and 21, with heavy showers at isolated places in the districts of the state, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain at many places in the districts of Kumaon division and some places in the districts of Garhwal division. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for light landslides, rock fall, road closure, and water-rising in rivers and streams in the districts prone to heavy rains. In such a situation, tourists are advised to bring complete information about the weather and routes before coming to Uttarakhand to avoid any kind of trouble.
