Dehradun. The first electric bus of Smart City in Dehradun has been run on the ISBT-Rajpur route. The bus will operate from next week. Only women will be able to sit on the bus during the trial. Smart city officers have started preparations. Smart City has purchased 30 buses for a hi-tech transportation system in the city through a company. They will operate on GCC (Grass Coast Contract) mode. Smart City CEO Dr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava said that instead of all thirty buses, one bus has been called for the first trial from the company.

His trial will be taken for 10 to 15 days according to the circumstances of Doon’s roads. Other buses will be called upon successful trial. He told that the bus running the trial is coming to Doon by road from Hyderabad. This bus can cover a distance of 150 km on a single charge. In such a situation, the bus will have to stop charging at around 15 places.

The length of the electric bus is nine meters and the width is 2.5 meters. Once charged, it will be able to run for 150 km. The bus will have 26 seats. Divyang will also be able to sit in it easily. A wheelchair and hydraulic ramp will be provided for this. The bus will also have a Driver Information System, PA System, Emergency Button, USB Mobile Charging Point.
