Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in New Delhi. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the cooperation of the Central Government in the development of the state of Uttarakhand. He said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Uttarakhand is moving ahead on the path of development at a rapid pace.

Congratulating Pushkar Dhami on becoming the Chief Minister, the Prime Minister expressed hope that the state would develop rapidly and all-round under the youth leadership. The Chief Minister told the Prime Minister about the burning issues related to the state. He apprised the Prime Minister about the preparations of the state government in view of the possible third wave of Kovid. Also discussed on Chardham Yatra, Kanwal Yatra.

The Chief Minister said that the construction/reconstruction work of the second phase is to be started in Kedarnath Dham at a total cost of Rs 108 crore 78 lakh. The Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to provide time for the foundation stone/virtual foundation laying of the second phase of construction/reconstruction works at Shri Kedarnath Dham.

The Chief Minister said that many important initiatives have been taken to improve the health sector in the state with the cooperation of the Centre. AIIMS Rishikesh is an important contribution of the Central Government to Uttarakhand. It has played a major role in the fight against the Kovid epidemic. The Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to set up a similar AIIMS in the Kumaon division in view of the peculiar geographical conditions of the state. He said that the state government would provide land for this. With the establishment of AIIMS in Kumaun, the people of the area will be benefited from world-class health facilities.

The Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to get the approval of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs for the speedy implementation of the Lakhwar Multipurpose Project of national importance. The Chief Minister said that the 300 MW Lakhwar Multipurpose Project would increase water availability in the Yamuna river and six states namely Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh would be benefitted. This project has got all the approvals and the approval of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, Government of India is yet to be received, after which the construction work of the project can be started.

The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Uttarakhand is making a place among the leading states of the country. Expressing gratitude for giving one hour more than the scheduled time, the Chief Minister said that it is a reflection of the Prime Minister’s attachment and thinking towards the people of Uttarakhand.
