Dehradun. The possibilities of running an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Gaurikund-Kedarnath 16 km on foot are being explored. The Tourism Minister has asked the Public Works Department to prepare its proposal and send a report. If this effort is successful from a safety point of view, then on many occasions the ATV can be used on the travel route.

The 16 km climb of the Kedarnath pedestrian route is continuously creating difficulties for travelers. Although horse mules, ‘dandi kandi’ are being operated here, even after this, the passengers have to face many challenges on the way. Passengers who are suddenly ill, injured, or unable to walk on the route are left with no choice.

This time too many passengers have been airlifted in critical condition. Now Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj has planned to experiment with new and innovative. Although it is not so easy to drive an ATV on foot, if the effort is successful, it can be used on many difficult occasions. The Tourism Minister has directed the Public Works Department, Guptkashi, through the administration, to prepare a proposal on this matter and send the report to the government. The proposal will be sent to the government in a week: Praveen Karnwal, EE of PWD, told that while talking to the company making ATV, the climb and possibility of its running will be discussed. Also, on the instructions of the minister, a proposal will be made in a week and the government will be sent through the administration.
