Preparations started to open the way to buy luxury vehicles for the ministers and officers of Uttarakhand. The Transport Department is going to change the Government Vehicle Purchase Policy of the year 2016. The departmental committee has recommended increasing the vehicle purchase limit to 60 in five categories. It has also been recommended to more than double the limit on oil expenditure for officers using private vehicles. Permission is being taken from the Finance Department on this policy. The argument of the Department On the recommendations for an increase in the vehicle purchase policy, a senior official of the Transport Department said that since the year 2016, the prices of diesel and petrol have doubled. Vehicle prices have also increased. For this reason, these recommendations have been made. Transport Secretary AS Hyanki said that the draft of the new vehicle purchase policy has been sent to the Finance Department. Action will be taken after the decision of finance.

DM will now be able to buy a luxury car worth 18 lakhs
According to the recommendation made by the Transport Department to buy luxury vehicles for ministers and officers, ministers and senior officers will be able to buy vehicles worth 25 lakhs. It has been recommended to increase the cost of private vehicle oil from Rs 23 thousand to Rs 51,590 per month. However, the Transport Department is not agreeing with this. If sources are to be believed, in view of the state’s financial condition, the Finance Department is surprised to double the reimbursement of oil expenses of private vehicles.

Minister-officers will be able to buy expensive vehicles.
Vehicles worth 25 lakhs can be purchased for Cabinet Minister, Chief Secretary, High Court Judge, ACS, PCCF, and DGP. Principal Secretary, Commissioner, Inspector General of Police, APCCF, and its equivalent will be able to take vehicles up to Rs 20 lakh instead of 12. Head of Department, Additional Secretary, DM, CDO, and another equivalent will be able to buy a car worth Rs 18 lakh.
