Dehradun. The next milestone of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ initiative, aimed at deepening youth involvement in the state’s progress, is slated for September 18. On that day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will sit down with 140 hand‑picked students from across Uttarakhand to hear their visions for the theme, ‘What Should the Uttarakhand of My Dreams Look Like?’
Beyond the direct dialogue with the CM, senior IAS officers and heads of key departments have been instructed to meet the same cohort. These officials will engage the students beforehand, probing their proposals so that the chief minister receives a well‑rounded brief.
More Than 2.67 Lakh Young Voices Shared Their Views
Roughly three hundred thousand class‑11 and class‑12 learners participated in the online call‑for‑ideas. A total of 267,744 submissions poured in, covering education, jobs, tourism, environment, migration, technology, health, and self‑employment. A panel of experts shortlisted 140 candidates whose suggestions stood out for originality and impact.
Departmental Leaders to Join the Conversation
To ensure that youthful insights translate into actionable policy, officials from Education, Health, Forest & Environment, Public Works, Tourism, Information Technology, Self‑Employment, and Women & Child Development will hold focused discussions with the students.
These sessions will explore the youngsters’ perspectives on development pathways, employment generation, and long‑term prospects for Uttarakhand.
Scholarships Up to ₹2 Lakh for the Selected 140
As part of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ scheme, each of the 140 chosen students will receive a scholarship of up to ₹2 lakh to fund career‑oriented coaching after Class 12. The financial aid was announced by CM Dhami during the campaign launch, rewarding those who submitted the most thoughtful proposals.
Embedding Youth Ideas into State Programs
Chief Minister Dhami reiterated that the administration will strive to weave the valuable suggestions into existing government schemes and future policy drafts. He emphasized that the creativity and optimism of Uttarakhand’s youth are vital ingredients for shaping the state’s trajectory.
The September 18 gathering will therefore serve as a pivotal platform, enabling the 140 scholars to present their concepts directly to the chief minister and to engage senior bureaucrats on a range of development challenges.
