Dehradun. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has given instructions to the concerned authorities to explore the possibilities of production of defense-related equipment under the Defense Production Policy in the state. The Chief Minister said that apart from providing a conducive environment in the state to the firms of this region for the production of defense-related equipment, the action plan should also be made for the establishment of the Defense Production Park.

The Chief Minister in the Secretariat on Wednesday in this regard, Industrial Advisor K.S. Panwar, Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Manisha Panwar, Secretary Finance Amit Negi, and MD Sidkul had discussions with SA Murugan.

Under the aegis of Uttarakhand Defense Manufacturers Association, a presentation was made on the possibilities of this in the state by Colonel S. Kaushal of KVR Solutions, a firm dealing with business development in various sectors of the public sector including defense. The Chief Minister has also instructed the concerned officials to take effective action in this regard in the interest of the state.
