Indian Medical Association (IMA) Uttarakhand has written a letter to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, demanding not to approve the Kanwar Yatra.

The IMA has written in its letter that the third wave is about to knock in the country. After the first wave of Corona, the Kovid guidelines were not followed. Due to which the second wave of Corona proved to be more dangerous.

Learning from our past failure, we should not allow Kanwar devotees to enter the state borders and keep Uttarakhand safe from the third wave of covid. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has today expressed concern over our negligence in following the COVID protocol.

People’s life is paramount for us: Chief Minister
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had said on Sunday regarding the Kanwar Yatra that it is a matter of faith, but people’s lives are also at stake. Even God will not like it if people lose their lives due to Kovid due to Kanwar Yatra.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government had decided in the cabinet meeting held on June 30 that this year there would be no Kanwar Yatra. Kanwar Yatra is associated with faith. Still, we are thinking that if there is any scope then we will have a high-level meeting on that. But the safety of the people is our top priority.

He said that we are just the host state. More than three crore Kanwariyas visit the state in 15 days. It is a matter of faith, but people’s lives are also at stake. Saving people’s lives is our first priority.

There should not be any danger to the lives of people at any cost, anyone’s life should be lost. Life is very precious and we will not allow any life to be in danger.

Give entry to outside devotees in limited numbers
On the one hand, where traders are agitating for the demand to open Chardham and Kanwar Yatra, on the other hand, Haridwar Mashal Organization has demanded entry of outside devotees in committee numbers in Dharmanagri. The organization has said that outside travelers are spoiling the atmosphere of the pilgrimage and are also promoting corona infection. In such a situation, strict steps should be taken to allow them only after corona testing at the border.

In the meeting of the organization held in Shravanath Nagar, National President Thakur Manoj Kumar said that the state government has kept the local people imprisoned for a long time by lockdown and sometimes by Kovid curfew. Due to this, the traders of the city have suffered heavy losses, but outsiders are tarnishing the dignity of the pilgrimage city by reaching the Ganges Ghats unabated.

This is sending the wrong message across the world. General Secretary Kuldeep Singh said that outsiders are disturbing the local arrangements by entering unauthorizedly. The organization has raised the demand to admit five to 10 thousand people after corona testing.

Said that if the administration does not do this, then the people of Dharmanagari may have to face a terrible epidemic during the Corona period. District spokesperson Raju Bhai, Munni Chauhan, Anita Bansal, Kuldeep Singh, Sunil Kukreti, and Monika Singh were present on this occasion.
