Former MLA and state agitator Ranjit Singh Verma died in Jollygrant Hospital on Monday morning. He was 86 years old. He was undergoing treatment at the hospital for the last five days. He was twice the MLA of Mussoorie Assembly of undivided Uttar Pradesh. All the people of the area who were his close associates have expressed grief over his death. Kunwar Singh Manwal, the former head of Jolly Grant and his associate, says the news of his death is an irreparable loss to Doiwala.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has also mourned his death. In this hour of peace and sorrow of the departed soul, he has wished to provide patience to his family. The Chief Minister said that Ranjit Singh’s struggles in building a separate Uttarakhand will always be remembered.

Haji Amir Hasan of Teliwala said that the departure of Ranjit Singh Verma, who inspired positive politics, is sad for the region. Chandraprakash Goyal of Kanharwala said that he used to give genuine advice as a friend. For this reason, he had great respect in the area.

Former MLA played an important role in the creation of a separate state
The people of the area are shocked at the death of former MLA Ranjit Singh Verma. His name is taken with the utmost respect in the promotion of education and sugarcane politics. Following the lifelong values ​​and principles, he worked to promote sugarcane politics and education in Doiwala. Former MLA Ranjit Singh Verma, who played a leading role in the creation of a separate state, was in Doiwala.

He is domiciled in Tarali Jolligrant. They have been called progressive farmers due to their considerable cultivation in the area. Sugarcane has been in politics for more than three decades. In the Sugarcane Council, Doiwala served as the President for nearly 25 years continuously.

He also contributed heavily in the reconstruction of the Doiwala Sugar Mill. Late Chief Minister of undivided Uttar Pradesh Due to his affection for Narayanadatta Tiwari, he was instrumental in increasing the crushing capacity of the Doiwala sugar mill to give it a modern look.

Along with this he also worked as a teacher. Worked as the manager of Doiwala, the oldest public inter-college in the area, from 1966 to 2018. While he still remained the manager of Arya Kanya Pathshala Inter College.

People prepared for the state-building movement
During the struggle for the creation of a separate state, he raised fame throughout the state including Doiwala. Doiwala also placed his in-laws at Premnagar market at the center of the movement. Prepared people for state-building struggle. The result was that the agitators who came from the mountainous areas to Dehradun used to stay in Doiwala.

Manoj Nautiyal, a resident of Jollygrant, who played an active role in the movement, said that he had entered the movement for the creation of the state with a determined sense. He continued to struggle despite being injured in the Muzaffarnagar incident.

The role played in founding Doonghati College
Former MLA Ranjit Singh played a key role in the establishment of Doon Valley College of Professional Education, an institute of higher education, established in Doiwala Premnagar market in 2005. Doon Valley College chairman Virendra Singh Chauhan said that it was only with his inspiration that the establishment of the institute in Doiwala became possible.
