Dehradun. Congress state vice-president Aakil Ahmed has expressed strong objection to the statements of the party president and Ranjeet Rawat. He said that at present there is a competition to blame my statement on Muslim University for the defeat of Congress in the state. He said that the big leaders of Congress are making me a scapegoat to escape their responsibility.

Congressmen are at loggerheads over the statement of Aakil Ahmed, who came into the limelight by demanding the establishment of a Muslim University in Sahaspur. Akil Ahmed has expressed displeasure over the different statements coming by Congress leaders. He said that the Congress leaders who became responsible in the assembly elections are engaged in making them scapegoats to escape their responsibility. He reacted strongly to the statement of party state president Ganesh Godiyal in which the state president had said that he did not know who made Aakil Ahmed the state vice-president. Akil Ahmed said that who made the state vice-president, state in-charge Devendra Yadav, observer Mohan Prakash can give him the answer.

Taking a dig at Ranjeet Rawat, he said that those working to harm the Congress in the state are today blaming others. He said that if the party had suffered due to his statement, the party candidate would have lost even in the Haridwar countryside on which he had been campaigning during the entire election campaign.
