There will be a ban on Chardham Yatra till August 18. The Nainital High Court has issued this order on Wednesday. The court has said that the case of Chardham Yatra is pending in the Supreme Court on the appeal of the state government and no decision has been taken from there.

Therefore, on the consent given in the court to continue the ban on the state government’s travel, the court has also extended the ban on Chardham Yatra till the next date. Now till August 18, there will be a ban on Chardham Yatra. The next hearing of the case will be on August 18.

Along with this, the court ordered the State Government and the Health Secretary on many other important matters including the precautions and preparedness and vaccination-related to the Delta Plus variant in the state.

Instructions are given by the High Court to the State Government and the Health Secretary

  • Give details of the status of pediatric wards and pediatric ventilators in government hospitals by the next date
  • Give details of how many posts of support staff, nurses and ward boys, etc. are vacant in government hospitals in the state and what process is being carried out regarding their recruitment, and what steps have been taken.
  • What is the situation with respect to the Delta Plus variant in the state and what were the results in respect of the 300 samples that were sent in the past and what precautions have been taken in this regard.
  • The announcement has been made to increase stipends to intern doctors. It should be implemented before the next date and at the same time, the monthly honorarium of those people should be provided on time.
  • The provisions of Anti Spitting and Anti Littering Act 2016 are already in force in the state, they should be strictly complied with.
  • The number of vaccination centers should be increased in the state and for those who have doubts about vaccination and have some superstition, then the state government should do proper publicity to clear the confusion.
  • All those differently-abled people in the state who are not in a position to reach the vaccination center located near their home. The District Magistrates of all the districts should make such arrangements for them to get the vaccine at home.
  • Proper arrangements should be made for vaccination for the differently-abled in the state and where their camps etc. will be set up, the District Magistrate should disseminate it through all means. In such camps, full care will be taken of the facilities of the differently-abled.
  • The state government had reserved 25% beds for the weaker sections in hospitals but has withdrawn the said order on July 25. The court has asked the state government to reconsider its decision.
  • The court has summoned the audit report regarding the status, facilities, and capacity of ambulances available in all government hospitals located in the state.
