State Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj has said that for the convenience of the passengers, along with instructions to all the departments to prepare their homework on time, special care will be taken for climate and carrying capacity. Clear instructions have been given to the Public Works Department, National Highway, and BRO to repair all the roads on the Chardham route in time. He told that this time arrangements have been made for four-way registration for the pilgrims coming on Chardham Yatra.

State’s Tourism, Public Works, Irrigation, Panchayati Raj, Rural Works, Watershed, Endowment, and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj told that this time the Chardham Yatra will start from April 22. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open on April 25 and Badrinath on April 27, while according to tradition, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will open on April 22, the day of Akshaya Tritiya.

In a statement issued after the review meeting on Chardham Yatra preparations at the secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that online registration for Chardham Yatra has started today. The portal of the tourism department will be open at seven in the morning. Pilgrims visiting Char Dham Yatra can also register through the tourism department’s website registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in or through WhatsApp number 8394833833 or toll-free number 1364. He said that this time arrangements have been made for four types of registration for the pilgrims coming on Char Dham Yatra, in which online registration, registration through the app, on-call registration, and registration can be done through WhatsApp.

Maharaj said that like last year, this time also a large number of devotees are expected to visit Chardham. In the last 4 days, bookings worth Rs 2.5 crore have been made for GMVN guest houses. The registration started on Tuesday (today), and till now 9 thousand of pilgrims have got themselves registered for Badrinath and Kedarnath. A slot token system has been started for queue management in Dhams. Instructions have been given to set up a control room for the registration of passengers and travel-related information.

Public Works Minister Satpal Maharaj said that before the Chardham Yatra, clear instructions have been given to the Public Works Department, NH, and BRO to improve all the roads on the Yatra route, make the patch work and be free of potholes. The Public Works Department has been instructed to make an app for monitoring the roads. Arrangements will be made for the deployment of JCBs etc. by identifying the places where most of the routes are blocked. Instructions have been given to deploy machines to open the road when the road is blocked. Along with the arrangement of JCB, Pokeland machine, and recovery van bulldozer, instructions have also been given for the availability of mobile numbers of supervisors and drivers. Arrangements are also being made to install crash barriers and signage on the travel routes.
