Satpal Maharaj, Minister of Tourism, Irrigation, Culture and Religion of the State, in the Nepal Embassy in New Delhi today, HE Ambassador of Nepal H.E. Nilambar Acharya and Ram Prasad Subedi met Minister DCM and wished them a lot on behalf of the Chief Minister of the state, Tirath Singh Rawat and discussed many topics including Pancheshwar Dam. Maharaj said that the open border of India Nepal in the social sector is characterized by the relationship of the two countries, which facilitates the movement of the people of both countries. There is a strong foundation for livelihood as well as marriage and family relations between the citizens of both countries. This foundation has been named Roshni Beti ki Rishta.

He said during a conversation with the Ambassador of Nepal that Nepal is an important neighbor of India and we have special importance for each other due to the geographical, historical, cultural, and economic relationship that has been going on for centuries. India and Nepal share similar ties in the context of Hinduism and Buddhism. The two countries share a common border of more than 1850 km, connecting the five states of India – Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Satpal Maharaj said that Buddha was born in Lumbini, in present-day Nepal. Later Buddha came to Bodh Gaya in the current Indian region in search of enlightenment, where he attained enlightenment.

Since both India and Nepal have people who believe in Hinduism and Buddhism. Also, the plan of the Ramayana Circuit is a symbol of the strong cultural and religious ties between the two countries. Therefore, it is necessary that the railway line between Lumbini (Nepal) to Gorakhpur (India) and from Janakpur (Nepal) to Ayodhya (India) should be expanded. Maharaj said that in the Corona period, there was a wide discussion on how to increase tourism with mutual cooperation between the two countries. Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj said that Bharat is a partner in various development schemes in Nepal including Pancheshwar Dam. Therefore, it is necessary that with mutual friendship and cooperation, we should move forward with goodwill regarding various development schemes.
