Rishikesh. A Bangladeshi woman living illegally in Rishikesh for the last several years has been arrested by the Kotwali police with the help of the intelligence department. Along with making an Indian passport illegally, this woman also got a voter ID card, and an Aadhar card made. Not only this, but for the last eight years, she was living in Rishikesh’s Housing Development Colony after buying a house in it.

The woman’s husband works in Dubai. In the year 2007, this woman came to India on a tourist visa. On behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, instructions were given to the various state governments to conduct investigations in relation to foreign nationals overstaying in different parts of the country.

In pursuance of this, the Senior Superintendent of Police Dehradun was asked to conduct an operation to investigate the Pakistani and Bangladeshi residents living in the Rishikesh Kotwali area. On investigation by the local intelligence unit, it was found that a Bangladeshi woman is living in house number 927 Awas Vikas Colony Rishikesh even after the expiry of the passport visa.

Inspector Ravi Kumar Saini, in charge of Kotwali, said that after this was confirmed in the investigation, on Wednesday, Sonia Chaudhary’s (40 years) wife Bavla Chaudhary, resident of Housing Development Colony, Virbhadra Road, Rishikesh district, Dehradun, went to the house of Dehradun. When their travel documents and identity cards were checked, it was found that the woman is a Bangladeshi passport holder. Its passport expired on 25 December 2014 and the visa validity also expired on 8 September 2011.

When the investigation was carried forward by the police team, it was found that this woman had made Indian documents while living illegally in India. In which he had even made a passport. Aadhar card and identity card have also been found from him. According to the police, Sonia Chaudhary is originally from the village Khandakia Post Yunus Nagar, Thana Hazari, District Chittagong Bangladesh. The woman was arrested. This woman had also gotten her registry done by buying a house here in the year 2016.
