Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid homage to Lord Mahavir Swami and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on their birth anniversary on Thursday at the Chief Minister’s residence.

The Chief Minister said that the education given by Lord Mahavir Ji, the 24th Tirthankar of Jainism, taught non-violence, truth, non-stealing, celibacy, and non-possessiveness will always serve as a guide for the welfare of the entire human society. Lord Mahavir was the epitome of non-violence and renunciation. He considered non-violence to be the ultimate religion and taught society to follow the path of truth and non-violence.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Dr. Bhimrao Babasaheb Ambedkar was a great thinker, he devoted his life to giving equal rights to all in the society. He chose the path of the Indian Constitution to remove social discrimination and implement the principle of equality. Dr. Ambedkar played an important role in eradicating untouchability and malpractices from society, establishing harmony, and bringing backward sections into the mainstream.
