New Dimensions Are Being Established In The Tourism Sector – Satpal Maharaj

Dehradun. Wishing the people of Uttarakhand State Foundation Day and Diwali, the Tourism Irrigation and Culture Minister of the state, Satpal Maharaj said that the state is attaining new dimensions of development today by realizing the dreams of the martyrs of the state.

Tourism Irrigation and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj said that in order to promote tourism in the state, the government is constantly developing new tourism destinations. The tourism department of the state is constantly working to develop Mahabharata Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, and Divine Circuit to promote adventure tourism as well as religious tourism.

Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that for the migrants who came to Uttarakhand after Kovid-19, the tourism department provided easy loans for those doing private business under the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Swarojgar Yojana. He informed that Mussoorie from Dehradun, one of the world’s longest 5 ropeways, costing 300 crores is being developed in PP mode. George Everest House in Mussoorie is being renovated and developed as a heritage tourism destination.

Maharaj said that efforts are on to develop the Tehri Lake from the point of view of tourism. Theme based new destinations are being developed in all the districts of the state. The consultancy has also been appointed to develop a water sports destination theme in Tehri. Satpal Maharaj said that “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Griha Awas (Home Stay) Development Scheme” was started with the aim of stopping migration in the state. Under this, provision has been made to provide grants to the residents of the state, under which 2353 homestays have been registered so far. He informed that the Uttarakhand Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board has been formed to fix the system of the four Dhams of the state – Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.

Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that due to Kovid-19, there is a big crisis in front of the hotel industry in the state. The government is committed to fully support all stakeholders related to the hotel industry. Uttarakhand has a repository of herbs and spices which are also considered for its therapeutic properties. The sages and sages of Ayurveda have been using it for centuries. With its rich heritage of Kumauni and Garhwali cuisine, we are also trying to develop the state as a “catering tourism center” under the name of “Himalayan immunity cuisine”. He said that special attention is being given to our traditional food such as “Manduye Ki Roti”, “lingude vegetable” which is rich in protein and other essential confirmatory elements. Work on several multifaceted schemes is underway, including Song, and Jamrani.

The irrigation minister has said that efforts to develop some new lakes are also coming true. To promote the culture of the state, the honorarium and travel allowances of artists have been doubled.

Maharaj urged the people of the state to follow the social distancing during the Corona transition period and use the mask and sanitizer to support the government in fighting this epidemic.
